Effects of chronic intermittent hypoxia caused by obstructive sleep apnea on lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury.

We found that prior IH may negatively impact LPS-induced ALI in a mouse model. This result suggests that ALI in patients with OSA may be more of a concern. Further research into the mechanisms underlying the effects of IH on ALI is needed.
