• The fitting formulas between radiographic TW3 skeletal maturity score and ultrasonic skeletal maturity score were developed. • Through measurement of ossification ratios of bones with ultrasound, TW3 skeletal maturity score was obtained in a simple, fast, and radiation-free manner.
