The live-birth prevalence of CHD in Sweden more than tripled during the past half-century, most likely resulting from more accurate diagnostic capabilities. The largest increase over time was observed among patients with simple defects. During the same period, overall cardiac interventions decreased whereas interventions for the most complex CHD groups increased.
