Post-transplant survival is comparable between HTx and HKTx, and early survival is similar between HTx patients and those listed for HTx with CF-LVAD support. However, outcomes on the waitlist for HKTx in CF-LVAD patients on dialysis is significantly worse compared to HKTx recipients. This highlights the need to better account for this patient population when allocating organs.
