This study highlights the importance of implementing a catheter care bundle to minimise the risk of CRBSI and the associated costs in the ICU setting. A policy change for infusion set replacement every 7 days has helped to maintain the CRBSI rate below the recommended rate, resulting in significant cost reduction and reduced production of ICU waste.
