The σ-arsolyl complex [Mo(AsC 4 Me 4 )(CO) 3 (η-C 5 H 5 )] serves as a metallo-ligand for the strategic construction of μ-arsolido bridged heterobimetallic complexes [MoCr(μ-AsC 4 Me 4 )(CO) 8 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )], [MoMn(μ-AsC 4 Me 4 )(CO) 5 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )(η 5 -C 5 H 4 Me)], [MoAu(μ-AsC 4 Me 4 )(C 6 F 5 )(CO) 3 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )] and [MoFe(μ-AsC 4 Me 4 )(CO) 5 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) 2 ]PF 6 via reactions with [Cr(THF)(CO) 5 ], [Au(C 6 F 5 )(THT)], [Mn(THF)(CO) 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 4 Me)] and [Fe(THF)(CO) 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )]PF 6 , respectively. The reaction of [Mo(AsC 4 Me 4 )(CO) 3 (η-C 5 H 5 )] with [Co 3 (μ 3 -CH)(CO) 9 ] affords the tetrametallic species [MoCo 3 (AsC 4 Me 4 )(μ 3 -CH)(CO) 11 (η-C 5 H 5 )]. Crystallographic and computational data for all products are discussed.
