The use of bone-borne palatal expanders aided by a maxillary osteotomy (transpalatal distraction) in treated cleft palate patients can provide a harmonious arch form in adolescent and adult patients. This trial was registered in the clinical trials registry with the ID NCT03837652 on February 12, 2019.
