Given the correlation with size and presence of infarcted papillae, we suggest the possibility of tumor ischemia/infarction as a plausible etiology of pseudoinvasion. Awareness of this phenomenon is important for the accurate diagnosis of invasion in papillary urothelial carcinoma.
