Non-contrast computer tomography was shown to accurately distinguish simple hydronephrosis from pyonephrosis in patients with obstructive uropathy. Evaluation of the ΔuHU in different slices may be more reliable than the uHU acquired from a single slice in predicting pyonephrosis.
