Body Stalk Anomaly Complicated by Ectopia Cordis: First-Trimester Diagnosis of Two Cases Using 2- and 3-Dimensional Sonography.

Performing an early diagnosis of a body stalk anomaly that is complicated by ectopia cordis is desirable, considering their poor prognoses. Most of the reported cases in the literature suggest that an early diagnosis can be made between 10 and 14 weeks of gestation. A combination of 2- and 3-dimensional sonography could allow an early diagnosis of body stalk anomalies complicated by ectopia cordis, particularly using new ultrasonographic techniques, the Realistic Vue and the Crystal Vue.
