Disseminated mucormycosis is a life-threatening and often fatal disease, and improved diagnostic and therapeutic strategies are needed. Nevertheless, in this population-based study, five patients (42%) were salvaged through combined liposomal amphotericin/triazole treatment and extensive surgical interventions.
