Hospitalized octogenarians with comorbidities, recently hospitalized or receiving antibiotic treatment are at risk for C. difficile infection. Clinicians evaluating such patients should have a high index of suspicion for this infection. Geriatr Gerontol Int 2018; 18: 315-320.
