Our large administrative data analysis suggests an increased risk of complications when performing a hysterectomy at the time of colpocleisis. A concomitant hysterectomy was performed in 22% of cases. Whether or not to include hysterectomy at the time of colpocleisis is based on shared decision making, influenced by individual patients' values, comorbidities, and risk of complications.
