At the height of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, more than half of the causes of fetal death in the Paris area were labeled placental or undetermined origin based on postmortem findings, but our study showed that, of these causes, 2.8% were due to placental SARS-CoV2 infection with a specific pattern of histological involvement. This study highlights the need for SARS-CoV2 screening in stillbirth assessment. The impact of vaccination coverage remains to be established. This article is protected by copyright.
