Regional factors associated with the prevalence of metabolic syndrome: Focusing on the role of healthcare providers.

Regional factors related to access to care were associated with the prevalence of MetS. Higher physician density and community health centre utilisation rates were associated with a decreased prevalence of MetS. Regional differences in access to care should be addressed to reduce the health gap between regions and prevent the development of MetS.
