Investigation of optimum hemoglobin levels in older patients with chronic kidney disease.

Anemia is associated with dynapenia, high risk of falls, and decreased functional capacity in older CKD patients regardless of genericity. To prevent these negative outcomes, Hgb should be kept in the range of 11.8-12.1 in older females with CKD and 12.6-12.8 in older males with CKD.
