In cases of minor pelvic or abdominal bleeding, not providing hemostasis or applying hemostasis withelectrocautery can increase the development of intra-abdominal adhesions. The use of alternative hemostatic materialsinstead of electrocautery for hemostasis may reduce the formation of adhesions.
