Sphingobacterium multivorum is a ubiquitous environmental microbe in nature, particularly abundant in soil and water sources. Recently, S. multivorum has been considered to be a potential opportunistic pathogen in humans. We report the 5,9540,064-bp genome sequence of S. multivorum strain FW102 , isolated from drinking fountain water and predicted to have multiple copies of β-galactosidase genes.
