Endophytic streptomyces sp. MSARE05 isolated from roots of Peanut plant produces a novel antimicrobial compound.

The new class antimicrobial SM05 consisting naphthalene core moiety was effective against drug resistant pathogens but non-cytotoxic to human cells. This study underscores the significance of endophytic Streptomyces as a source of innovative antibiotics, contributing to the ongoing efforts to combat antibiotic resistance.
