Alteration of the maximal renal water excretion capacity with kidney function and age in human.

This study shows a decrease in maximal urinary dilution capacity and free water clearance with CKD and age, without gender difference. These alterations are mild but must be considered when a significant water intake is required or in the case of hyponatremia.
