Distraction across fixed-angle percutaneous screw instrumentation systems stabilizes traumatic thoracolumbar burst fractures, corrects deformity, and decompresses the spinal canal. Further comparative research is necessary to demonstrate whether outcomes are different between percutaneous instrumentation vs open fusion for thoracolumbar trauma.
