In this paper, we provide experimental evidence to indicate that the polyanionic Mo 132 O 372 cage with a hydrophobic inner nanospace has a unique capability to participate in anion-π interactions by showing a preference for electron-deficient mono-substituted benzenes over non-electron-deficient guests in inclusion.
