Isolated Fe-N x sites coupled with Fe 3 C nanoparticles co-embedded in N-doped porous carbon were fabricated using polyethylene terephthalate wastes as carbon sources. Benefiting from the synergistic effect between Fe-N x sites and Fe 3 C, and the hierarchical porous structure, the catalyst exhibits outstanding ORR performance, realizing the concept of turning trash into treasure.
