Genetic variation significantly affects multiple acute ethanol response behaviors. We showed that many of the behavioral phenotypes are independent of each other, suggesting that the genetic variation captured by these strains is likely to affect multiple biological mechanisms through which ethanol acts, and that further study of these strains may allow those distinct mechanisms to be identified.
