Percutaneous transhepatic biliary stone removal is difficult for large or intraductal stones. Percutaneous Transhepatic Endoscopic Holmium Laser Lithotripsy (PTEHL) demonstrated a high success rate with few major complications. PTEHL can treat biliary stones, particularly stones that are difficult or have failed ERCP treatment.
