Industrial-scale production of acetaldehyde relies heavily on homogeneous catalysts. Here, we used ethane as the feedstock and developed ZSM-5-supported PdO nanoparticles for the direct oxidation of ethane to acetaldehyde by utilizing O 2 and CO. PdO nanoparticles clearly demonstrate effective activity and prevent the further deep oxidation of acetaldehyde.
