S-nitrosylation linked to reduced activity and, consequently, higher basal myogenic tone. These changes were associated with lower perfusion of the frontal cortex and impaired neurovascular reactivity, suggesting that nitro-oxidative stress is an important mechanism of vascular dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease.
