An evaluation of glistening and stability of intraocular lens material manufactured by different methods.

SN60WF had the most numerous glistenings that resolved over a longer duration. The long-term stability test confirmed elution of the intraocular lens material-derived compounds and signs of degradation for the XY1, SN60WF and AN6K intraocular lenses. NS-60YG and ZCB00V showed no signs of deterioration due to ageing. Differing manufacturing methods likely play a role in the stability of intraocular lenses.
