A novel Mg(BH 4 ) 2 ·1.9NH 3 -MgBr 2 ·2NH 3 composite was demonstrated as a solid-state Mg 2+ electrolyte. The in situ decoration of MgBr 2 ·2NH 3 nanoparticles with an average size of 3.7 nm on the surface of Mg(BH 4 ) 2 ·1.9NH 3 improves the Mg 2+ conductivity to 2.1 × 10 -4 S cm -1 at 50 °C and offers long-term stability towards the Mg metal anode.
