Perceptions that deceased romantic partners continue to play a key role in conjugally bereaved older women's lives offers researchers the unique opportunity to examine how loss is carried into old age. Further, this study may assist with the development of interventions that destigmatize continuing bond expressions for conjugally bereaved heterosexual women.
