Anterior cruciate ligament foot plate anatomy: 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional MRI evaluation with arthroscopy assessment in a subset of patients.

• The mean differences between 2D and 3D measurements of tibia-ACL and intermeniscal ligament-ACL are small (< 1.2 mm). • As compared to arthroscopy, the mean T-ACL and IML-ACL were closer to measurements from 2D and 3D MRI, respectively. • Both 2D and 3D MRI can be reliably used to delineate ACL foot plate anatomy.
