In eyes of CMV retinitis with panretinal occlusive vasculitis, rapid resolution of retinitis lesions is an unreliable sign evaluating the therapeutic efficacy of anti-viral agents. Besides, despite treatment of anti-viral agents, deteriorating vascular occlusion may further endanger macular function.
