eGFR values at the 10th percentile or lower based on a population-level distribution are associated with adverse clinical outcomes and in younger adults (18 to 39) this corresponds to a higher level of eGFR that may be underrecognized. Application of population-based eGFR percentiles may aid interpretation and improve identification of younger adults at risk.
