Abnormal DA flow patterns culminating in significant DA constriction occurred during fetal MMC repair. Limiting maternal exposure to indomethacin, supplemental oxygen, and inhaled anesthesia may reduce the incidence and severity of DA constriction and perhaps reduce fetal cardiac dysfunction during open fetal surgery.
