The taxonomic assessment alone does not fully capture the microbiome's differences from two different geographical locations. Carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism were enriched in samples from Spain, while samples from the USA had a higher representation of pathways related to nitrogen, propanoate metabolism, and secretion systems.
