A simple and low-cost approach to construct one type of cobalt porphyrin-based hypercrosslinked ionic polymer with high specific surface areas, densely located ionic groups and highly dispersed cobalt sites has been demonstrated, which act as bifunctional catalysts for the solvent-additive-free conversion of CO 2 into cyclic carbonates with outstanding biomimetic catalytic performance and good recyclability.
