We describe an approach for targeted epigenomic liquid biopsy in pregnancy and discuss our findings in the context of noninvasive prenatal testing with respect to phenotypic pregnancy monitoring and the early detection of complex gestational phenotypes such as preeclampsia and preterm birth.
