This study found variation in mothers' and fathers' perceptions of their roles and responsibilities for their child's physical activity and sedentary behaviours related to specific types of activities. The results indicate areas where parents need support in how to guide their children and how parental responsibility can have a positive influence on children's physical activity and sedentary habits.
