Here, we present a synthetic route towards γ-amino alcohols with continuous stereocenters based on a copper-catalyzed asymmetric conjugate addition/CO 2 -trapping tandem reaction of α,β-unsaturated amide, followed by a reduction of the generated α-carboxyl amide. This strategy provides a green route for the transformation of CO 2 into valuable chiral organic molecules.
