An innovative method for the fabrication of a catalyst-sensitizer dyad-based photoelectrode was developed by using the coordinated interaction between the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic group and Sn 4+ . A dyad (C1 + PDI) was loaded on the mesoporous BiFeO 3 (BFO) photocathode for light-driven H 2 generation. The dyad could expand the light absorption range and promote the surface charge separation of BFO, resulting in an enhanced photocurrent.
