Risk of malignancy assessment of the different cytologic categories in respiratory cytology samples according to the new guidelines of the Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology.

Our results correlated with the PSC system, and it was considered useful in clinical practice. However, more studies should be performed to evaluate the usefulness of this system. The ROMs of each category and the impact of different techniques should be further studied.
