• The lymphatic system has been increasingly implicated in a number of inflammatory and immune-mediated diseases. • The abdominal lymphatic system can be visualized in the majority of children above 8 years on routine MRCP images. Similar to adult studies, the cisterna chyli is significantly larger in children with portal hypertension. • Retroperitoneal lymphatic collaterals, seen in 29% children, are associated with immune-mediated diseases, which supports the potential role of the lymphatic system in the pathogenesis of immune-mediated diseases.
