Comparison of the complications and long-term results of heparin-coated and non-heparin-coated symmetric-tip hemodialysis catheters.

This study showed that the rate of fibrin sheath development was significantly lower in heparin-coated tunneled catheters than non-heparin-coated catheters. There was no significant difference between the two catheters in terms of the rates of infection and mechanical complications.
