Glutamate dehydrogenase was closely related to in-hospital mortality and prolonged hospitalization compared with Clostridioides difficile toxin. Clinicians should not neglect glutamate dehydrogenase-positive patients, even when they are Clostridioides difficile toxin-negative, and consider them as having poor prognostic potential.
