Adult children were more likely to experience high amounts of family conflict, while non-traditional caregivers were less likely to experience abuse and neglect accusations. These findings support the need for continued investigation of family conflict in dementia caregivers. They also call to examine how family relationship types, including non-traditional family structures, influence caregiving outcomes.
