Cutaneous microcirculation is strongly affected by APB, with significant differences regarding microvascular anatomy and vascular physiology. Smoking significantly diminishes the elicited improvements in perfusion. Our findings could influence reconstructive strategies as well as dependent perioperative anesthetic management.
