Self-assemblies with cascade effect to boost antitumor systemic immunotherapy.

Bio-organic hybrid self-assemblies based on amino acids, conjugated polymers, Fe 3+ and enzymes are fabricated with tumor environment-responsive and light-triggered NO release properties. By sequential energy consumption, NO attack and immune activation, FFPG shows boosted antitumor activity toward both primary and distant tumors. The three-level cascade strategy (starvation/NO/immunotherapy) adopted in this work offers a pathway to address the dilemma of low cure rate of malignant tumors.
