Predictors of functional impairment and mortality in patients on maintenance hemodialysis.

Older age and suppressed PTH levels are predictors of mortality in ESRD patients receiving MHD. These patients require regular follow-ups to rule out cardiovascular morbidity. Functional impairment is prevalent but remains underdiagnosed in MHD patients. It should be monitored regularly to improve quality of life in ESRD.
