Shame in younger adults with a type 2 diabetes diagnosis: where might this be leading?

I recently enjoyed a Russell T Davies fictional biographical TV drama about a group of young friends exposed to the growing AIDS epidemic in 1980s London(1) . Whilst the joy of their lives together was palpable and infectious, the undercurrent of shame was equally so. Shame for being homosexual, shame about some of their behaviours and shame for their HIV+ diagnosis.
