Elevated BAR levels were associated with an increased risk of in-hospital mortality in critically ill patients with diabetic ketoacidosis, and BAR could serve as an independent prognostic factor in in-hospital and out-of-hospital mortality for patients diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis.
